Alumni Association Emblem

Design background：The SAIIS Alumni Association was founded on September 10th 2016. On January 8th 2016, in order to pool the wisdom and inspiration of all our alumni in an effort to capture the spirit of SMU, SAIIS solicited emblem designs from our alumni. In the end, the design of Wang Kang, our 2015 EMBA trainee, emerged victorious after rounds of intense competition.

Design philosophy：The sailing boat in the emblem echoes its spiritual heritage from Shanghai Maritime University. Multiple smaller sails indicate that while our alumni sail around the world, they are forever connected in SAIIS spirit. The circular purple clouds in the background are simple, elegant and auspicious.

Unveiling ceremony：The alumni association emblem was unveiled on September 10th 2016, the same day that the association was founded.
