The Salon was headed by Mr. Wang Jianjun, director of ship financing from Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Mr. Wang gave an lecture on"Ship Market Trends". More than 50 trainees from SAIIS EMBA and Rizhao Port Group attended the salon. Prof. Yu Siqin, executive vice president of SAIIS and the person in charge of the Shanghai Maritime University Alumni Association attended the event.
Mr. Wang Jianjun has been engaged in shipbuilding related industries for nearly 25 years. He once worked at Shanghai Jiangnan Shipyard, Lloyd's Register of Shipping, Royal Bank of Scotland, Gibson Ship Brokers and Commonwealth Bank of Australia. He has extensive experience in the marine industry. He introduced the current supply and demand relationship of the ship market around the topics such as the three mainstream ship market, ship financing and M/V Stellar Daisy shipwreck incidents. Then he started an analysis of the trends in the international shipping market. His thoughts were clear and thorough, and he stirred a strong resonance from students. Students constantly asked questions out of their own interests and they were very eager to interact.
After the end of Sharon, Mr. Wang Jianjun presented his students with his monograph Ship Market Trend which contains his thoughts in the shipbuilding operation for over 20 years.
