On June 28th, 2014 EMBA opening ceremony and FTA logistics forum were held by SAIIS in SMU Dongming Road Campus. Li Zhaojie, deputy director of the Management Committee of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, SMU’s President Huang Youfang, Vice President Jin Yongxing together with over 30 EMBA new students from different enterprises and institutions of shipping and logistics attended the opening ceremony.

Presidents Huang Youfang extended his congratulations on the opening of 2014 EMBA. He noted that the opening of the new project firmly proved the wide recognition SAIIS has deserved as well as the achievements SMU has made in the construction of Shanghai Shipping Center and the practice of social responsibilities universities should bear. He said that SMU will spare no efforts to make it an internationally influential Shipping high-end talent export base and decision advisory organization.

Deputy director Li Zhaojie gave a report China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone: the Test Field of Institutional Innovation for the new EMBA students after the ceremony. He interpreted the antecedent significance and historical mission of Shanghai Free Trade in the aspects of policy planning and institutional innovation of FTA, thus helped the students to fully understand the concepts involved in FTA.

Shandong Shipping Vessel Inspection Bureau President Zhang Ruofu made a speech in the opening ceremony on behalf of all the 2014 EMBA students.
