On December 6, 2013, Jing Fangxian, the general manager of Chinese Business Division of Structural Trade Finance Department of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking (Chinese) Corporation, came to Shanghai Advanced Institute of International Shipping to hold a lecture for shipping finance EMBA students and superior shipping finance training class students. Dean Yu Siqin hosted the lecture.

The lecture focused on the theme of shipping financing, introduced the two major current markets in shipping financing of China and the categories of shipping financing, and interpreted the procedures of shipping financing and its principles of economics from the perspective of the bank. Many vivid cases were introduced in the lecture, which drew a huge repercussion among the students. The students asked questions and communicated about the issues they were concerned with, creating hot atmosphere on the scene.

Jing Fangxian was once the director of China’s Export-Import Bank Transportation Finance Ministry, who has given guidance on financing a number of shipping leveraged buyouts. The lecture ended with acclaim.
