From December 6, 2013 to December 8, 2013, Professor Qu Linchi of School of Economics and Management of Shanghai Maritime University instructed Shipping Finance EMBA students of Shanghai Advanced Institute of International Shipping with their first course.

As the first course in the shipping finance EMBA program, ‘Strategic Management’ is the basis on which students are guided to study various economic issues in shipping and to establish management practice. The course which lasted for 3 days systematically analyzed the developmental trends of Chinese economy in shipping through utilizing principles of modern economics from the perspectives of financial, fiscal and tax reforms, reforms of enterprises and so forth, which assisted the students in grasping the direction of the future development of China’s shipping market and increasing their decision-making ability.

The students had active performance and frequent interactions with each other in class and fairly approved professor Qu’ s teaching style. They prompted a heated discussion on case analysis and expressed they would apply the theory to practice and promote the development of their enterprises.
