Recently, Mr. Kong Fancun, the deputy Party secretary and vice-president of Shanghai Maritime University, and Ms. Chi Xiaoying, the vice-dean of Shanghai Advanced Institute of International Shipping went to Da Lian to meet the leaders of many local port and shipping enterprises.

The vice-president, Mr. Kong, and his team were warmly welcomed by the related enterprises. A discussion was held there by our vice-president Mr. Kong, the Party secretary and vice-president of Port of Da Lian Group limited, Fu Bin, the chief engineer of Da Lian Port Planning Bureau, Ke Nan, the deputy director of Da Lian Travel Bureau, Wang Liwu, and the related leaders of China International Travel Service Limited and China Travel Agency. In the talk, Mr. Kong introduced the achievements that our university had made in recent years in discipline construction, student cultivation, international program and faculty cultivation, and reviewed the cooperations that our university had developed with port and shipping enterprises in Da Lian in the aspects of talent cultivation, science and technology cooperation, information resource sharing and so forth. He also introduced Shanghai Advanced Institute of International Shipping which was being established now and had an in-depth discussion with all the distinguished guests on how to cultivate the senior personnels in the field of shipping finance and cruise management. Finally, they reached a consensus on enhancing cooperations further between the enterprises and Shanghai Maritime University and on promoting the cultivation of the senior shipping management personnels in Da Lian.
