From April 19 to 26,Huang Youfang,President of Shanghai Maritime University,visited the United Kingdom and Macau.During the time,he visited Cambridge Judge Business School,Cass Business School of City University London,Cambridge Portage School and City University of Macau .

President Huang made a frank exchange with leadership of the four universities,and they reached a consensus on further contacts and cooperation with Shanghai Maritime University.Representatives of Cass Business School and others expressed their hope to sign the specific cooperation agreement as soon as possible.

In the exchange,President Huang indicated that both Shanghai and London are are the world's most dynamic cities ,and London brings together over 1,000 of the world’s high-end shipping service agencies which involve maritime,law,finance,consulting,education and other fields.Now,London leads the development of the education and training of the international shipping and logistics,while Shanghai is trying to build into an international shipping center.It is urgent and critical for Shanghai to cultivate much more shipping talents, thus to reach the goal of improving the modern shipping industry level and enhancing the ability to allocate global shipping resources.Huang said the win-win cooperation mode can help to gather the high quality education resources of global shipping and logistics and develop talents of high-end international shipping,finance and logistics,so as to speed up the construction of shanghai to build into an international center.
